Lemonade
Jan 24, 2022Yesterday morning, the wound looked slightly bigger.
I was, to say the least, disappointed.
I'd been doing everything the doctor prescribed. He'd even said I could still get up for meals and to get ready for my day, etc.
But, I was beginning to think he was wrong about that.
So, I stayed in bed (aka off my butt) all day yesterday.
That decision started me down the road of thinking that I was back to where I started when the first pressure wound was diagnosed back in August of 2017.
When I first discovered the reoccurrence of the wound during the holidays, I felt shame and was depressed, and clammed up about it for a while, which just made the shame and depression worse.
That was a slippery slope for me until I started sharing the situation with people.
So, yesterday, I knew I had to do something to stop that downward spiral.
I then did one of the things I do best.
I started talking. Yes, you can giggle at this. It's both true and funny.
I did a Facebook live video and told people exactly what was happening and that I was immediately motivated to talk about it.
In fact, I asked for help.
I asked for people to join me in my Zoom Romper Room to lift my spirits.
By the way, thank you for zooming with me. My spirits are officially lifted.
I also knew I had to share on a grander scale, so in that Facebook Live video, I asked for help booking paid, virtual speaking engagements at corporate events, conferences, symposiums, professional organizations, nonprofits, advocacy groups, houses of worship, schools, etc.
I want to continue to share with people what my core belief and Operation INSPIRATION message has always been:
No matter what challenges you face, you have what it takes to live your most fulfilling life.
Sharing this message is exactly what I am meant to do with my life.
That's why, when a setback happens--A DETOUR, as I now call it--I take action.
I make lemonade out of lemons.
In other words ...
I FOCUS ON WHAT I CAN DO. And it's working because I already have leads on two speaking engagements.
So, today, I'm continuing to ask for your help.
If you know any event coordinators, HR people, booking agents, ANYONE WHO BOOKS PROFESSIONAL SPEAKERS FOR PREFERABLY PAID SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS, please get in touch with me to hook me up with your connections.
And this is not a one-sided ask ...
If there's something I can do to help YOU in return, please ask me, because another thing I can do is help you and/or connect you with people who can help you.
Your determined InspiraWoman,
Andrea
